About 50 young people from Artsakh and Tavush attended in two-day educational workshops in Dilijan

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, participants from Artsakh and Dilijan formed new friendships, exchanging phone numbers and social media contacts, fostering hopes for ongoing communication.

The latest meeting of the Educational Art Workshops from the “Menq & Moonq” program took place in Dilijan, Tavush region. Over the course of two days, 31 young people from Dilijan and 17 from Artsakh explored the fundamentals of acting and photography, created their first origami cards, and worked with thread and needle to embellish their hats.

The first session focused on acting, where many participants performed for the first time. They were given specific tasks, and despite not knowing each other beforehand, the welcoming atmosphere fostered by the acting trainer helped them overcome their apprehensions. Within ten minutes, the participants began assisting one another in finding their roles, suggesting character actions.

The next session taught participants how to create Japanese origami cards. They were encouraged to use a variety of themes to personalize their cards, showcasing their unique creativity. The resulting origami featured designs inspired by Japanese anime, the Armenian flag, Mount Ararat, “Aya-Dedo,” and even love confessions.

The workshop also included a clothing design, where girls embroidered and decorated hats, while boys assembled colorful beaded bracelets and turbans. For many, this was their first experience with needlework and beading. The final course focused on photography. Participants had the opportunity to capture images in their surroundings, emphasizing lines and colors. Discussing each photo on a large screen allowed them to uncover the secrets and meanings behind photography.

In the supportive environment of the workshop, young people from Artsakh and Dilijan formed friendships, exchanging contact information and social media profiles to keep in touch. The Educational Art Workshops held in Dilijan on November 30 and December 1 will be followed by similar events in 2025.

The “Menq & Moonq” program is financed by the  German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) in partnership with Sign of Hope (SoH). The project is implemented by the Development Principles NGO.
